I am a Changemaker because, as we say in the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World), “An injury to one is an injury to all.”

about lisa

I have been engaged in community organizing on many fronts over the years including workers’ rights to organize; anti-gentrification and fair housing; poverty and welfare rights for all; and evolving anti-racism and community care work.  A deep commitment to equality, justice and radical social transformation continues to inform and inspire my organizing work.   Corvallis has been my home for the past 19 years.  In that time I have been increasingly involved in helping to build grassroots coalitions to bring together diverse organizers and activists to build common cause and promote a culture of solidarity.  It is vital for us to claim and develop our grassroots power and to connect our local struggles to the broader structural oppressions that challenge us at the global level.  Along the way, my background in healthcare and group work, and my experience in social movement and poverty research has been invaluable.
